Scope and Contents

Consists of forty-eight rolls of microfilm that contain indexes to marriage licenses from 1908-1929 for all boroughs of New York City as follows: Bronx, 1914-1929, five rolls; Brooklyn, 1908-1929, sixteen rolls; Manhattan, 1908-1929, twenty-two rolls; Queens, 1908-1930, three rolls; Staten Island, 1908-1938, two rolls. The index consists of separate entries by name of groom and bride. The index is alphabetical and is broken down by a series of months, e.g., January to March. It lists the date and certificate number. The original handwritten index was retained by the New York City Clerk.
